MLO 4 Secondary Culture other than Hispanic Cultures 4.1 Students describe concepts of culture and use that understanding in their comparison of Hispanic cultures with a second culture other than those. 4.2 Students will analyze and make connections between the perspectives, ways of thinking, behavioral practices, and cultural products of a second culture other than Hispanic cultures.

Reflective Narrative Japn 314 An analysis of historical and modern Japanese society through works of art and media including photography, film, maps, and other visual materials. Students learn to extract information from images as part of a visual analysis, while dealing with socio-geographical methods for understanding urban flows, economic disparities, transportation, and built environments. Students compare what they understand about Japanese culture with their own familiar environments. Japn 314- This course was a new experience for me. I never had the opportunity to learn about other culture. This course gave me the opportunity to learn about Japanese culture. In this course I also learned about many of their traditions and why they are so unique. In this course I appreciated topics such as: Buddhism, the geography of Japan, art, music and even clothing. In this course we had the opportunity to make presentations about interesting topics relate to the class. I made my presentations based on two topics that I found interesting and they were “Fashion trends in Japan”. In this project I chose different fashions trends of Japan and I explained the symbolism and how sometimes this trends created stereotypes. My second project was about “Shikoku Pilgrimage” that is a 1,200 kilometer pilgrimage around shikoku, a explained the history behind the shikoku pilgrimage, the purpose and the meaning for people in Japan. HCOM 312 Introduction to cooperative argumentation. Students develop empathic and critical listening skills for cooperative deliberation and problem solving. They apply and assess reasoning and argumentative skills on various topics in oral and written communication contexts.
