Course description: Reading and discussion of selected masterworks of literature as they reflect the historical, political, and social context of the Peninsular Spanish experience. Students will be introduced to reading and writing critically, and discussing both form and content within these works. All discussions will be carried out in Spanish. Taught in Spanish
Reflection : Span 321 was an introduction to the spanish culture. In this course we acquire knowledge about the historical, political, and social context of the Peninsular Spanish experience. In this class also we knowledge some of the history of Spain, we learned about “The spanish conquest of the aztec empire”, the diverse geography and culture. In this course I have the opportunity to read “Lazarillo de Tormes” that is an anonymous picaresque novel. This novel which tells the story of a boy who works for different men in different places of society. This novel represent some of the most controversial social problems during the 16 century in Spain.
